Phoenix, AZ – March 24, 2025 – Mike Stavrinos made NHRA history this past weekend at Firebird Motorsports Park, securing back-to-back wins in the Congruity NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series, triumphing in both the Gatornationals make up race, powered by FuelTech, and the Arizona Nationals, powered by LAT Racing Oils.
In a rare and impressive feat, Stavrinos piloted his AAP Camaro to victory twice in the same weekend, solidifying his place as one of the top contenders in the Pro Mod category. The weekend began with the completion of the postponed Gatornationals eliminations, where Stavrinos clocked a 5.752-second pass at 247.52 mph, defeating multi-time world champion Rickie Smith in the final round.
“It really doesn’t feel real right now. I’ve wanted one of these Wally's since I was a little kid,” said a jubilant Stavrinos after securing his first career NHRA Pro Mod victory. “I can’t tell you how much this means. I’m a little emotional right now. It’s awesome, and the guys worked so hard on this.”
But Stavrinos wasn’t done yet. He carried his momentum into the Arizona Nationals, where he qualified No. 1 with a stellar 5.725-second run at 248.61 mph and produced the best average ET's during qualifying, collecting the Total Piston Rings Showdown award worth $10,000. On race day, he once again powered through the competition, taking out Kevin Rivenbark, Justin Bond, and J.R. Gray before facing Rickie Smith in a rematch final. In an even stronger performance, he ran a blistering 5.725 at 248.43 mph, securing his second Wally in 24 hours.
“To double up like this—first win and then another right away—it’s unbelievable. Huge thanks to my team, my family, and all of our supporters,” said Stavrinos.
With two victories in one weekend, Stavrinos skyrockets to the top of the Pro Mod standings as the series heads to its next event. His dominant showing in Phoenix cements his status as a championship contender for the 2025 season.
Next up: The Congruity NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series moves to Charlotte NC where Stavrinos and his team will look to continue their winning streak.
