Concord, NC – April 27, 2025 – J.R. Gray delivered a commanding performance at zMAX Dragway, clinching victory in the Congruity NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series during the 15th annual American Rebel Light NHRA 4-Wide Nationals. Piloting his Al-Anabi Performance Camaro, Gray showcased consistency and speed throughout the event, culminating in a final-round win against Billy Banaka, Alex Laughlin, and Mike Janis.  


Super impressive runs marked Gray's path to the winner’s circle:

  • First Round: 5.667 seconds at 256.65 mph

  • Second Round: 5.659 seconds at 256.31 mph

  • Final Round: 5.656 seconds at 255.73 mph   


His .025-second reaction time in the final round was instrumental in securing the win, demonstrating his driving skill and the team’s meticulous preparation. 


“We’ve been cutting good lights all day long, and we were just going up to do the same thing again in the final round,” Gray remarked. “I’m happy with the light and happy with the performance. This team, these guys have made this thing a bullet.” 


This victory marks Gray’s first of the 2025 season and the second of his Pro Mod career, propelling him to second place in the championship standings. Notably, he also secured the No. 1 qualifying position with a 5.680-second pass at 254.76 mph and won the Modern Racing Showdown, earning additional accolades for the Al-Anabi Performance team.


The Congruity NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series will continue its season at the 25th annual Gerber Collision & Glass Route 66 NHRA Nationals presented by PEAK. It will take place May 15-18 at Route 66 Raceway in Chicago.
