WHAT IS NHRA PRO MOD?
The NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series is a professional class of motorsports that features highly modified vehicles competing in side-by-side races on a quarter-mile track. Cars in this class can have engines that produce over 3,000 horsepower and can reach speeds of over 250 mph. The series is known for its competitive racing and diverse field of cars, including anything from classic muscle cars to cutting-edge, high-tech vehicles.

The first NHRA Pro Mod race was an exhibition in 2001. The exhibition race was held at the U.S. Nationals event in Indianapolis, Indiana, and was a test to gauge the interest in the class. The exhibition was well received by fans and competitors, and in the years following, the pro mod class became a regular part of the NHRA schedule.
